Hi, I’m Kurtis!
I’m a certified TEFL teacher from the UK with a degree in Linguistics & Phonetics, but most importantly, I am here to help you learn English!
I specialise in teaching pronunciation, grammar, and writing skills. However, I offer many kinds of teaching so I’m sure you can find something that will be perfect for you.
Any class that you take with me will have a focus on conversation and practice through use of the language. Learning about the language is important, but practicing with a native is an invaluable experience!

My Approach
Conversation & Confidence
Whatever we are practicing, conversation is one of the best ways to do it.
Many learners don’t have the opportunity to practice their speaking skills regularly. That is why you will be speaking as much as possible in our classes!
Grammar, vocabulary, formal language, informal - whatever it is, we can practice it through speaking and have you feeling like a confident speaker!
You need the right English class that suits you, that’s why I will always help you to find the right style of class.
How will you learn?
In our classes, we will be learning vocabulary, grammar, reading, writing, listening, speaking skills, and more! To do this, we use articles, worksheets, videos, and more to give you a fun and interesting learning experience.
By not only practicing the vocabulary from our classes, but adding similar words, we can very quickly build a big vocabulary and give you complex ways to use your language.

A little more about me
Can You speak any other languages?
Yes! … A little bit. Just like you, I am a language student. I study Spanish in my spare time, so I know many of the struggles of learning a language! However, in classes we will only be speaking English.
What are your qualifications and experience?
I have a TEFL certificate, which included practical assessments and teaching assignments. My teaching experience since getting this qualification has included teaching in schools, teaching large classes, one-to-one classes, and working with other teachers to improve myself. I have 3+ years of experience in online teaching, and more if you include face-to-face classes!
What do you do when you are not teaching?
I would love to tell you that it is travelling, but it is not so easy to travel in current times!
When I’m not teaching, I enjoy cooking, trying different sports (although I am not very good it seems), watching movies and writing reviews, and reading as much as I can. If you’re struggling to think of a question to ask, ask me what book I am reading at the moment to get me chatting.
